War in Ukraine: Drone Attacks, Western Aid and Diplomatic Tensions

Overview of night drone attacks, Ukraine's response, new air defense supplies and diplomatic tensions amid Western support.

Russia launched a massive drone attack on Odesa and Sumy overnight, but no casualties were reported. In Kramatorsk, a guided bomb strike hit a residential building, killing a ten-year-old boy.

Ukraine responded with a strike on the Millerovo airfield in Russia's Rostov region and conducted drone attacks on airports in Moscow and Sochi, causing disruptions.

A Ramstein group online meeting took place. The US and Germany agreed on an urgent delivery of five Patriot systems and additional ammunition to Ukraine; the Netherlands and France announced increased aid, including Mirage pilot training.

At the same time, diplomatic tensions are rising: pseudo-talks with Russia are expected in Istanbul to discuss POW and child returns, but real progress is seen as unlikely.

Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have worsened after statements by President Aliyev on occupation and an appeal to the international court. Moscow responded with arrests of Azerbaijanis and harsh rhetoric.

Ukrainian troops are receiving new batches of FPV drones thanks to volunteer support, strengthening frontline defense. There is a growing need for aid in the Pokrovsk direction.
