In August 2025, Ukrainian pensioners will be able to benefit from new forms of financial support: allowances, supplements and social benefits. Payments are provided for various categories — by age, health status, special merit, as well as for Independence Day.
Age supplements are available for those celebrating 70, 75 or 80 years, provided their pension does not exceed 10,340 UAH. Payment amounts: 300 UAH for 70-year-olds, 456 UAH for 75-year-olds, 570 UAH for 80+ year-olds monthly.
Pensioners from areas affected by radioactive contamination, officially recognized victims, Chernobyl liquidators and evacuees are entitled to an extra 2,361 UAH per month. Elderly pensioners (80+) who live alone can receive an additional 40% of the subsistence minimum, which is 944 UAH per month.
Honored blood donors receive a 292 UAH supplement. Pensioners raising minor children alone are granted 150 UAH per child if the pensioner is not employed.
Pensioners also have access to benefits: free use of city and suburban public transport (except for the metro), full or partial compensation for utilities, subsidies for city residents, and additional one-time payments for Independence Day for certain categories. For example: people with war-related disabilities (1st, 2nd, 3rd groups receive 3,100, 2,900, 2,700 UAH respectively), combatants and Euromaidan participants — 1,000 UAH, families of fallen defenders — 650 UAH, and others.
Utility subsidies will remain unchanged in August; most recipients will have them renewed automatically. New applicants must submit forms online or through the Pension Fund. The government also compensates property owners who shelter IDPs — 450 UAH per person.
These payments and benefits help reduce financial pressure and improve the quality of life for the elderly.
