One Week to Possible End of War: US Pressures Russia and Ukraine, New Internet Restrictions in Russia

US demands end of war by August 8. Russia increases Internet censorship. Ukrainian forces thank for FPV drone support.

The US administration has stated that the war between Russia and Ukraine should end by August 8, according to a demand by Donald Trump. The United States is ready to take additional measures to secure peace if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire.

Trump believes Russians are not interested in peace and continue hostilities, as recently demonstrated by the deadly attack on Kyiv. Despite this, the White House continues to negotiate with representatives of the Russian Federation, although no progress has been made.

Meanwhile, Russia is increasing internal censorship: in some regions, Telegram access is restricted, and the government has introduced new laws against using VPNs and accessing "extremist" materials, which now carry fines.

Drone attacks on Russian industrial zones often result in local Internet outages. The Kremlin’s response has been to strengthen domestic control — citizens are being pushed to use internal platforms like “VK Max” to limit the influence of outside information.

In Ukraine, volunteer support for the army continues—units are receiving FPV drones from the Sternenko Foundation to help effectively counter Russian forces on various frontlines. Ukrainian soldiers express gratitude for the support and urge continued assistance.

At the same time, Russia’s economy faces challenges: factories are reducing work weeks due to a lack of orders and finances, and potential US sanctions on oil exports may speed up the economic downturn. Nevertheless, Kremlin officials claim to be unfazed by new sanctions.

Overall, the situation remains unstable — amid political statements, increased sanctions, and Russia’s information isolation, Ukraine continues to gain volunteer support in its fight against the occupiers.
