Anti-corruption scandal in the Verkhovna Rada, strikes on Russia and new sanctions against China: the main events of the day

NABU and SAP have detained a Member of Parliament suspected of taking bribes related to defense procurement. According to reports, those involved were receiving kickbacks of 30% from military purchase contracts. Both the President and anti-corruption bodies have commented on the operation, but the name of the detained MP has not been disclosed, raising questions among the public.

It was also reported that Ukrainian forces struck a gas pipeline in Russia’s Volgograd region which supplied energy to Russian military facilities. Meanwhile, Russian forces attacked Druzhkivka, resulting in civilian casualties.
