Current situation on the war in Ukraine: statements from Trump, Putin and Zelensky, and drone support

Overview of key developments: Russian attacks on Ukraine, strikes on Millerovo, Trump’s positions, possible leader talks, importance of drones.

Last night, Russian forces once again attacked civilian targets in Ukraine, with greenhouses and residential houses in Bucha among those hit. Despite the ongoing terror, Ukrainians continue to resist.

At the same time, Ukraine conducted strikes in southern Russia, notably on the Millerovo airfield in the Rostov region, where Russian aviation is based. Local authorities claimed all attacks were repelled, but there was damage to fuel warehouses.

The situation around Trump’s ultimatum to Russia about a ceasefire remains uncertain — the period expired, but sanctions have not been imposed. Donald Trump has denied that any meeting with Putin is contingent on a prior meeting with Zelensky, while Putin shifts responsibility for negotiations onto Ukraine, demanding preconditions.

The format for any future talks is unclear, and Russian propaganda emphasizes the impossibility of a leaders’ meeting. President Zelensky, in turn, has expressed hope for a trilateral meeting. There is speculation about proposals from both sides, including possible economic cooperation that would benefit Russia despite its economic difficulties.

A significant part of the address focused on supporting Ukrainian troops through charitable donations for drones at the front. Thanks to this, defenders have received new FPV drones, which save lives and help destroy enemy equipment and personnel. Various brigade units thanked supporters and called for continued assistance.

At present, there is no indication of a swift end to the war or immediate negotiations. Attention is focused on supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities and monitoring international initiatives.
