Overview of Ukraine’s Attacks on Russia, Frontline Updates, and SCO Summit Aftermath

Ukrainian strikes inside Russia, fuel crisis in the Russian Federation, results of the SCO summit, and Moscow’s new geopolitical challenges.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue regular attacks deep inside Russian territory. Last night, Ukrainian drones hit the Kropotkinskaya railway station in the Kuban region, disrupting Russian logistics. At the same time, Russia is facing a fuel crisis, especially in temporarily occupied regions, due to sustained strikes on its oil infrastructure. Missile shortages for air defense and problems with fuel supply are forcing the Russian leadership to prioritize the military, limiting civilians’ access to fuel.

Ukrainian strikes have both military-economic and moral-psychological effects on Russian society. Public criticism about inadequate air defenses and comparisons with World War II realities are growing. However, experts note that current Ukrainian military successes are not yet enough to alter the course of the war.

Meanwhile, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit is taking place in China. Russian President Putin’s cold reception highlighted Russia’s declining international position. Leaders from the Global South, especially China and India, are increasingly acting independently, posing a real geopolitical challenge for Moscow. The summit demonstrates Beijing’s growing influence as an alternative pole to the West.

On the frontlines, Russia reports tactical gains, including a partial blockade of Kupiansk. Yet, real control remains largely at the city’s outskirts, and Russian units are suffering heavy losses. Inside Russia, disappointment is mounting over official military statements, which often contradict previous assessments.

Ukrainian society is mobilizing to support its military—fundraising continues for FPV drones used actively at the front. Service members thank volunteers and urge people to keep helping the defenders in their fight for independence.
