Military Parade in China, Trump's Statements and Ongoing Hostilities: Current Geopolitical Situation and Reactions

Overview of the military parade in China, Trump's statements about Putin, attacks on the energy sector, FPV drone support for Ukraine, and positions of global leaders.

China hosted a major military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, presided over by Xi Jinping. The event was a display of power aimed at the United States, showcasing intercontinental ballistic missiles, new air defense systems, and advanced laser and microwave complexes for countering drones. The U.S. is perceived as lagging behind in this technological race.

Leaders of the so-called "Axis of Evil"—Russia, Iran, North Korea—attended the parade. Former President Donald Trump expressed his disapproval of the parade publicly. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia does not oppose Ukraine’s accession to the EU, but strongly stands against NATO membership. Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov earlier claimed that Russia was not considering a trilateral format regarding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

In Ukraine, mass attacks on the energy infrastructure continue nightly, affecting Chernihiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad regions, among others. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to shoot down over 300 enemy drones, thanks to public-supported initiatives like "Shahedoriz."

President Putin blamed Ukraine for retaliatory strikes on Russia’s energy targets, overlooking the fact that Russia has consistently targeted Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Donald Trump once again voiced his disappointment with Russia's actions, offering no real measures to support Ukraine. His statements seem to be merely stalling for time, as he does not back increasing military aid for Ukraine and avoids direct action against Russia.

Despite this, Ukrainian forces continue to receive FPV drones. The military has thanked the community for its assistance and urged continued support through volunteer initiatives. On the front lines, Russia remains on the offensive in the east, and Ukraine’s defenders require sustained technical support.
