Ukraine launched another large-scale assault on targets inside Russia, with significant strikes hitting the Primorsk oil port in the Leningrad region. The attack caused a major fire and damage to a vessel. Additional strikes targeted an ammunition depot in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region and an oil facility in Smolensk.
According to reports, the Primorsk port is responsible for about one-third of Russia’s oil exports, and the damage could affect export volumes. Meanwhile, Ukrainian military units reported shooting down over 400 aerial targets as part of the "Shahedorizer" project.
The situation remains tense on the western front. Recently, former US President Donald Trump commented on the Russian drone attack on Poland, a NATO member country, calling it a potential mistake rather than condemning it outright. This prompted criticism in Poland, with Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski urging the US to take a stronger stance against Moscow’s actions.
In response to the escalation, Poland closed its border with Belarus and deployed over 40,000 troops to the border, amid joint Russian-Belarusian military exercises "Zapad 2025" which may pose a significant threat to the region.
The US has also announced the lifting of some sanctions against Belarus, which supported Russia during the attack on Ukraine. This move has drawn criticism given the ongoing aggression by Russia and its allies across Europe.
The article also highlights the vital role of public support for Ukraine’s Armed Forces, particularly in raising funds for FPV drones and advanced defense systems to better protect Ukrainian airspace.
