The Polish Defense Minister, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, arrived in Ukraine on an official visit, accompanied by Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister. Key discussions with the Ukrainian government centered on deepening military-technical cooperation and sharing experience in countering drone threats.
Recent drone incidents intercepted in Polish airspace have prompted Ukraine and Poland to enhance collaboration. Following the talks, Warsaw and Kyiv agreed to set up a joint task force specializing in UAVs, bringing together representatives from both nations' armed forces. Ukraine will also provide Poland with access to its drone tracking systems monitoring flights towards Polish territory.
The collaboration will also extend to the integration of advanced defense technologies and operator training. Both sides emphasized the shared goal of strengthening protection for critical infrastructure and exchanging practical experience in aerial threat countermeasures.
Experts note that long-term deployment of Polish military units in Ukraine is unlikely due to NATO protocols and security considerations. Cooperation will occur within the permissible frameworks of international engagement and intelligence sharing.
The visit marks a new step in military partnership and the integration of Ukraine’s combat experience with that of NATO allies, reinforcing bilateral security efforts in the region.
