Trump Shifts Rhetoric on Putin, Europe Discusses "Drone Wall", Ukraine Continues Counteroffensive

Donald Trump says it's not time to talk peace with Putin as Europe invites Ukraine to join the "drone wall". Zelensky reports advances in counteroffensive.

Donald Trump has stated that now is not the time for negotiations with Vladimir Putin about peace, but pledges support to Ukraine’s stability after the war’s end. Trump’s changing rhetoric also touches on sanctions, underlining oil prices as key to weakening Russia, but without concrete immediate steps.

Meanwhile, President Zelensky reported ongoing Ukrainian advances: Ukrainian forces liberated seven settlements, amounting to 160 km², demonstrating resilience on the frontline. Ukraine’s economy is experiencing growth, with an 8% year-over-year increase in the agricultural sector in August.

Against this backdrop, European nations are discussing the creation of a "drone wall" to defend against Russian attacks and have invited Ukraine to participate, highlighting Kyiv’s vital involvement. Ukrainian drone defense technologies are already being implemented in EU countries, with large-scale production of interceptor drones planned soon.

The discovery of Russian drone wreckage in Latvia and drone incursions in Poland underscore the urgency of the issue for NATO and Europe.

A meeting between President Zelensky and the Polish president is being prepared despite differences, with an emphasis on partnership and mutual security. The analyst cautions against Russian information operations disguised as “peacemakers” and calls for vigilance.
