Massive Russian Missile Strike: Kremlin's Fall-Winter Strategy and Threats to Europe

Overview of Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, Kremlin objectives for the war, European risks, and the importance of Western support this winter.

Today, Russia once again launched a massive terrorist attack against Ukraine, employing aeroballistic and ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. In Kyiv, at least four people were killed, including a 12-year-old girl. One of the strikes targeted Kyiv's Institute of Cardiology. Zaporizhzhia and Odesa also suffered, with the latter's wine factory being hit. Sumy region and other areas were affected as well.

The Russian strategy, according to the author, involves both advancing on the front lines to seize as much Ukrainian territory as possible and sustained terror—striking critical infrastructure, civilian targets, and economic facilities. Recently, energy infrastructure in Chernihiv region has faced particularly frequent attacks. The aim is to undermine Ukraine's economic ability to defend itself.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has ramped up its own strikes on Russia's oil production and fuel infrastructure, causing notable gasoline shortages within Russia. Modern Ukrainian drones now regularly operate on Russian territory, complicating Moscow's war efforts.

Russia's strategy also extends to Europe: almost daily reports emerge of unidentified drone flights over Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, Poland, and the Baltics. This is part of a hybrid tactic to test NATO's response and gather intelligence about air defense and radar systems. The author warns such provocations may be a prelude to more direct, forceful actions against NATO members within the next six months.

The Kremlin continues to accuse the West of planning attacks, as seen in recent statements about Kaliningrad, echoing pre-invasion claims from 2022. Russia views Europe as weak and seeks to exploit this. The article also highlights the role of Moscow's allies, including Hungary, in intelligence efforts within Ukraine.

The author urges European countries to prepare for potential escalation and focus on weakening Russia’s capacity for war. He emphasizes the resilience of Ukrainians and the crucial role of public donations supporting the army, which are making a real impact on the front lines. The message ends with a call for unity and continued volunteer support in these challenging times.
