Trump, Zelensky and Putin: Outcomes of Difficult Talks, New Routes and Peace Plans

Analysis of the results of the Zelensky-Trump meeting, sides' reactions, prospects for peace, strikes on energy and the upcoming Putin summit.

Donald Trump has agreed to consider a ceasefire along the front line, but the meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky left both sides dissatisfied. After the conversation, Zelensky held consultations with European leaders, and British PM Keir Starmer proposed a new peace plan.

Ukrainian drones attacked a substation in Russia's Ulyanovsk—a major energy hub. Meanwhile, Russian forces continued strikes on Ukraine, including in Chuhuiv and on educational institutions in Zaporizhzhia region.

The main topic of the talks was drones and missiles: Ukraine offered technology exchange with the US, but no consensus was reached. Trump publicly called for an immediate ceasefire and negotiations along the front, but refused to supply Ukraine with cruise missiles.

The negotiations took place in a tense atmosphere. The US side did not promise new weapons supplies, and Trump expressed doubt about Ukraine's willingness to stop the war. The Russia-US summit in Budapest is being prepared, with Putin's plane to be escorted by Turkish fighter jets.

China also remains in focus as Trump prepares to meet Xi Jinping. Thus, international support for Ukraine remains uncertain, and peace negotiations are moving forward with difficulty.

The outcomes show that while the process continues, all parties remain cautious and tense, and future agreements depend on many factors.
