Negotiation Rift: New EU Summit, Russia's Position, and Possible Scenarios for Ukraine

Global press and European leaders discuss an upcoming summit, positions of sides, and financial support for Ukraine amid Russian statements.

Recently, Russian officers advised Putin not to travel to Budapest, warning of possible threats to his life. Meanwhile, Western intelligence is rumored to be working on a separate plan concerning the Russian leader, which Ukraine supports. At the same time, Dmitry Peskov reaffirmed that Moscow stands by its previous conditions and is uninterested in new agreements.

The European Union is preparing a new summit, during which leaders may agree to allocate significant financial support to Ukraine, possibly using frozen Russian assets. The main objective is to provide Ukraine with sufficient resources for at least the next three years to strengthen its position in negotiations with Russia.

Global media, such as The Washington Post and The New York Times, note that Ukraine has no reason to make concessions since the front line remains stable. Meanwhile, Russia continues to promote conspiracy theories about threats to Putin and possible scenarios for the forthcoming events.

European leaders are calling for swift decisions on support for Ukraine. October 23 may be a key date for the allocation of financial aid. Whether diplomatic pressure on Russia will continue and whether Ukraine will receive the necessary resources for the coming period are among the main questions currently under discussion.
