Russia launches mass missile attack on Ukraine: energy sector hit, diplomatic front, EU peace initiative

Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine using ballistic missiles and Kinzhal missiles, targeting energy and transport infrastructure. Casualties are reported. Ukraine responded with strikes on Russian military targets. Internationally, Europe is seeking US support under a 12-point peace plan, with meetings involving Trump and Rutte. Fundraising continues for pickups for the front.

During the night, Russia carried out a massive missile attack on Ukraine, using ballistic and hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. Key targets included energy facilities, railway infrastructure, and civilian areas in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Initial reports say 6 people were killed and 17 injured.

Ukrainian air defense intercepted some missiles, but civil buildings in Kyiv sustained damage. In response, Ukraine launched strikes on Russian military targets in Saransk and Smolensk.

In international politics, Europe is attempting to persuade the US to support Ukraine. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte will meet with Donald Trump to present a 12-point EU-Ukraine peace plan. Despite Trump’s stated refusal to meet with Putin, Russia continues preparations for negotiations.

Donations are being collected for five pickup trucks to help the frontline near Novopavlivka. The vehicles will assist with transporting ammunition, drones, and supplies to Ukrainian soldiers.
