Russian strike on Ukraine: attacks on civilians, in response — drone attacks on Russia

Overview of massive Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities, civilian casualties and Ukraine’s retaliatory drone attacks inside Russia.

On the night of October 21, Russia carried out another massive airstrike on Ukrainian cities, including Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa region, Poltava region, Cherkasy region, and Kyiv region. As a result of the attacks, there were civilian casualties, including a six-month-old baby, a 12-year-old girl, and another woman killed in the Kyiv region. The main targets were energy infrastructure, aiming to deprive Ukrainians of heat and electricity during winter.

In response, Ukrainian forces launched attacks on targets inside Russia. Ukrainian drones struck the oil refinery in Dagestan, the Saransk Mechanical Plant (which manufactures ammunition), and energy targets in Bryansk and Smolensk regions. These drone attacks caused temporary power outages in several regions of Russia.

Meanwhile, the situation remains difficult in Ukraine’s border regions, particularly in Chernihiv region, where energy infrastructure is constantly targeted. As of the morning of October 21, Chernihiv remained without electricity, with low water pressure reported and intermittent mobile and internet services.

The video’s author also called on Ukrainian businesses and citizens to donate for interceptor drones and help the defense forces counter Iranian-Russian drones attacking Ukrainian cities. Over the past day, defenders received more than 160 new FPV drones, including interceptors, which have helped shoot down a significant number of enemy drones.

In the political arena, the possible cancellation of a meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin was discussed. Russia continues to refuse to halt its attacks on Ukraine and shows no willingness to make concessions in negotiations to end the war. The situation on the front and in daily life remains challenging, with the author emphasizing the importance of solidarity and support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
