Russian Nuclear Threats and Attacks: Putin, Trump, Sarmat, and the Situation in Ukraine

A Ukrainian review of Russian attacks, nuclear rhetoric, Putin's statements, Trump's reaction, and the frontline situation.

Another night brought massive Russian attacks using ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones. This time, the main targets were energy infrastructure in western Ukraine and the city of Zaporizhzhia. Nearly 20 people were injured in Zaporizhzhia, including 6 children, and 2 people were killed.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin made several statements about testing nuclear weapons, especially the Sarmat missile and the Poseidon underwater drone. He again issued veiled threats to the US and the UK, but these threats went largely unanswered by Donald Trump or the international community.

Despite this nuclear rhetoric, Russia has repeatedly announced the deployment of the Sarmat system in recent years, but this process has faced delays and failures, including an incident at the Plesetsk test site.

The US responded by announcing plans for its own nuclear exercises. During his visit to South Korea, Trump was presented with a symbolic crown, while talks with Xi Jinping resulted in trade agreements, though there was no progress on Ukraine.

The frontline remains difficult in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad; logistics are disrupted, Russian forces are present, and conflicting statements emerge from military command. Nevertheless, Ukrainian units continue to receive support with new drones through charitable donations and call for further assistance.
