On the night of November 1, Russia launched a massive drone attack on Ukraine, using 223 drones, including more than 140 Shahed-type UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to destroy 206 targets, but 17 drones still hit facilities in seven locations. The attacks resulted in a strike on an agricultural enterprise in Chernihiv region, a gas production facility fire in Poltava region, and a missile attack in Mykolaiv that killed one and injured 15 people. Zaporizhzhia region suffered 720 strikes across 25 settlements.
In response, Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow region. Zhukovsky city lost electricity due to infrastructure damage after drone strikes. Russian authorities reported intercepting 98 drones and imposed temporary restrictions at airports in several cities. Ukrainian intelligence also disabled a key ring oil-products pipeline in Moscow region.
International reaction followed: G7 countries condemned Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy sector. The Pentagon made a technical decision to allow supplying Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine; however, the final decision depends on political leadership, especially Donald Trump.
Other developments include Poland's Ministry of Defense reporting new interceptions of a Russian surveillance plane, and Berlin Brandenburg International Airport halting flights for two hours due to a drone sighting.
In judicial news, Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court sentenced former State Fiscal Service chief Roman Nasirov to six years in prison and a fine for corruption, while his accomplice Novikov was acquitted. Appeals will continue until April 2026.
