On November 10, NABU detectives searched the premises of businessman Tymur Mindich, co-owner of Kvartal 95 Studio and associate of President Zelensky. According to media reports, the searches took place in Kyiv. Mindich reportedly left Ukraine a few hours before the investigation began.
Simultaneous searches were conducted at Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko, who previously served as Minister of Energy, as well as at the Energoatom company. Investigators are probing a money laundering scheme involving $100 million linked to state energy enterprises.
The investigation focuses on the alleged use of shell companies to win tenders, kickbacks, and subsequent embezzlement of state funds in the energy sector. Much of the laundered money is believed to have been moved through offshore structures and an office in central Kyiv, belonging to the family of former MP Andrii Derkach.
Anti-corruption agencies highlighted a possible information leak that enabled one main suspect to leave Ukraine before the searches. Minister Halushchenko was added to the "Myrotvorets" database on suspicion of involvement and alleged links to Russian intelligence. His dismissal was also initiated in parliament due to corruption allegations.
The President’s Office supported NABU’s investigation, with President Zelensky calling for accountability in the energy sector. The investigation is ongoing, and official responses are expected soon.
