On the YouTube channel “Fabrika Novyn”, analyst Valeriy Klochok discussed the current emotional climate in Ukrainian society regarding peace proposals and the situation at the front. He pointed out a sense of déjà vu echoing last year's attempts at agreements, noting that negotiations did not lead to results as all parties tried to defend their interests.
Klochok highlighted that conditions at the front have become worse for Ukraine, warning that without decisive action, occupied territories could increase. He emphasized the need for new resources to change the situation and raised concerns about internal issues like corruption and a lack of effective decisions in defense.
The expert advised assessing the situation objectively and noted that any peace talks are subject to politicization, often presented as victories by both sides. The lack of consensus increases tensions not only in government but also among the public.
Klochok believes the main goal now is to preserve Ukraine as a state, even if not all territory can be protected. He argues for an “upgrade” in approaches to war and political decisions, stressing that the future of a possible truce lies with President Volodymyr Zelensky, though society may not be ready for it yet.
