Ukraine’s Political Crisis: Possible Coalition and Government Changes, Negotiation Positions

Experts discuss Ukraine's political crisis, possible coalition and government shifts, future negotiation stances, and impact on international relations.

Ukraine is facing a political crisis that could lead to a change of coalition and government. Experts note that, for the first time in years, parliament has a real chance to become a strong political player. In the coming month, a new coalition may be formed, possibly leading to a new parliamentary speaker and government.

The fate of these changes largely depends on decisions by President Volodymyr Zelensky, expected in the coming days. If the "Servant of the People" faction weakens, up to 80 MPs could join the new coalition. The opposition currently controls about 150 votes, and the chances of creating a new parliamentary majority are relatively high.

The main concern is possible disagreements between coalition partners and the risk of political conflict if a new government forms. Experts stress that even a technocratic government would not solve Ukraine’s systemic problems.

In parallel, there is growing concern about Ukraine’s future negotiating positions with Russia, the US, and Europe. The major issues will remain territorial integrity, European security, and Russia’s stance. The so-called “28 points of Dmitriev’s KFA” are expected to be the basis for potential future agreements between Ukraine and Russia.

Regardless of parliamentary and government changes, a consensus on major negotiation issues requires in-depth and confidential discussions. Experts emphasize the importance of balanced decisions and consolidated efforts by political forces to overcome the current political crisis.
