On November 30, major political events shaped the international agenda around Ukraine. A Ukrainian delegation led by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council met in Florida with US colleagues, including Senator Rubio, Vitkoff, and Kushner. The negotiations focused on a dual-level plan for resolving the Ukrainian issue, with security guarantees and territorial questions at the center. According to journalists, Trump's representatives aimed to close disagreements on two points of the plan. Updated proposals are expected to be presented to Putin in the coming days.
In his latest column, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, modeled a scenario for freezing hostilities for several years rather than achieving a full peace. Zaluzhnyi argued that new peace initiatives increasingly worsen Ukraine's position, and security guarantees remain undefined.
As talks between the US, Ukraine, and Russia continue, European nations express concerns about the possible forms of peace. Viktor Orban of Hungary proposed a "buffer state" concept for Ukraine. Meanwhile, Macron plans to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine during Zelensky's upcoming visit to Paris.
The situation on the frontline remains tense. Russia conducted missile and drone strikes on residential buildings in Kyiv and Sumy regions and across Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Dnipro areas. Civilian casualties have been reported.
On the economic front, Russian oil companies—including Rosneft—are reportedly facing significant losses. Ukraine has aligned sanctions with the US against Russian energy corporations and drone attack organizers.
Diplomatic tensions continue as Kazakhstan and Turkey condemned strikes on a Russian oil terminal and tankers in the Black Sea. Poland refused dialogue with Orban after his visit to Moscow. At the same time, internal debates in Ukraine concern staff changes in the President's Office and preparations for reconstruction.
The day ended with news of talks between Trump and Venezuelan President Maduro regarding a potential change of power, which reached no agreement. Venezuela's Foreign Ministry called for international support of its sovereignty and condemned external interference.
