On December 4, peace talks continue in the United States regarding the conflict in Ukraine. In Miami, Russian representatives are set to meet with the Kushner and Vitkoff delegations, who recently arrived from Moscow with new instructions from Vladimir Putin. The Ukrainian side will be represented by Rustem Umerov and Chief of General Staff Hnatov, as confirmed by Ukraine's ambassador to the US, Oksana Stefanishina.
According to Russian representatives, Putin wants to end the war, but his conditions remain strict. Donald Trump commented that Ukraine may face an "unjust peace," adding that the most opportune time for an agreement has already passed.
Finland has announced it will not provide security guarantees to Ukraine, suggesting this responsibility lies with major European countries and the US. NATO officials stress the need to keep pressuring Russia and supplying weapons to Ukraine until a compromise is reached.
European leaders remain divided over support for Ukraine. Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever is skeptical about Russia's potential defeat and warns of risks if Russian assets are confiscated. In response, Russian leader Medvedev has threatened Europe with war if frozen Russian funds are seized in the West, and demanded possible reparations.
The military situation remains tense: Ukrainian air defenses recently shot down 114 out of 140 drones, with casualties and damage reported in Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions. Ukrainian drones also hit targets inside Russia.
Discussions on peace negotiations continue amid ongoing international political debates about support for Ukraine in both Europe and the US.
