US Reportedly Discusses C5 Group with Russia and China, Excluding Europe

US sources discuss the C5 bloc idea, including the US, China, India, Japan, and Russia, leaving Europe out of the concept.

According to Politico sources, a new concept for a C5 group is being discussed in the US as an alternative to the G7. Potential members include the US, China, India, Japan, and Russia. The idea reportedly appears in an unpublished draft of the US national security strategy, though the White House denies any secret document exists.

Security experts claim this approach could suit a potential President Donald Trump, who favors strong-state alliances. Notably, Europe is not considered in the group, raising doubts about its feasibility.

Additionally, the return of Russian energy resources to the European market is under discussion if sanctions are eased, including possible gas transportation through Ukraine's pipeline system. Security guarantees remain a key challenge for such a scenario.

The issue of resuming economic cooperation with Russia, fueled by financial interests and potential US rivalry with China, is also considered, highlighting the complexity of the geopolitical landscape.
