The "Blyznyuk Live" YouTube channel hosted an in-depth interview with Ukrainian journalist, writer and TV host Ostap Drozdov. Key topics included the crisis in state governance, the influence of certain officials, prospects for elections, and the role of oligarchs in national politics.
Drozdov commented on the statement of Prosecutor General Kravchenko about threats to opponents, noting that such rhetoric reflects a systemic approach in the country's leadership, where power is viewed as a tool for coercion rather than serving citizens. He said this repressive model leads to neglect of problems and stifling of initiative.
The journalist pointed out that public discussion of crucial decisions, including peace talks, rarely happens domestically—instead, most relevant information arrives from Western media. Drozdov emphasized that Ukraine effectively operates as a super-presidential, near-monarchic system, where political decisions are made by a narrow circle and the public's input is minimal.
Discussing the dismissal of figures like Head of Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and other officials, Drozdov argued that the system has institutionalized alternative centers of influence not foreseen by the constitution or law. He stressed that replacing individual figures does little to improve governance quality unless the governance model itself is reformed.
The conversation also addressed the influence of oligarchs and their impact on politics and major decisions, citing businessman Ihor Kolomoisky as an example, with ongoing deals and disputes related to financial investigations.
Drozdov concluded that Ukrainian society faces a difficult situation—lack of real choice among positive outcomes, habituation to chronic crisis, and domination of political life by a narrow elite.
