Key Issues of Peace Talks: Four Documents and the Positions of the Parties

The Ukrainian delegation in Florida discussed four key documents with US and EU officials, including a 20-point peace plan.

Over three days in Florida, the Ukrainian delegation held a series of meetings with US and EU representatives, focusing on four key documents, including a comprehensive 20-point peace plan.

According to the head of the Ukrainian negotiating team, Mr. Umerov, the parties discussed the drafting of the 20-point plan, coordination for a multilateral framework agreement on security guarantees, separate US-provided guarantees, and the development of an economic recovery and prosperity plan.

Participants described the talks as constructive. US delegation head Steve Witkoff expressed satisfaction with the results, while Russian special envoy Dmitriev also positively commented on the Miami meetings.

However, several unresolved issues remain: the future status of occupied territories, Ukraine's potential NATO membership, the size and arming of the army, language and cultural rights, and the management of strategic sites. Experts note that the US side does not have a unified position on all matters, and a range of opinions is expected in public discussions.

Experts highlight that Ukrainian negotiators should focus on bilateral agreements and safeguarding national interests, interpreting statements from other parties cautiously. Further developments are expected in the coming days from all participants.
