During a recent discussion, the question was raised: will Europe face confrontation with Russia in the near future? The expert notes that this confrontation is already ongoing, with Brussels maintaining significant sanctions pressure on Russia. Although trade between the two has decreased, Russia is eager to restore economic ties. However, Europe remains firm in its support for Ukraine and does not yield to Moscow’s threats.

The expert pointed out the likelihood of Russian provocations against the Baltic States. As for ending the war, it is possible that a decision could be made even this year, with a ceasefire considered as an option to allow elections and possibly a referendum. Panelists emphasized the importance for Ukraine to continue on the path toward European Union membership to secure financial aid and security guarantees. Joining EU anti-corruption practices is seen as a way to enhance transparency and effectiveness within Ukrainian state institutions.
