Key Personnel Changes in Ukrainian Leadership: Zelensky Dismisses Maliuk, Appoints Budanov and Fedorov

Overview of top-level personnel changes in Ukraine: dismissal of SBU chief, new appointments of Budanov and Fedorov, and analysis of political dynamics.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has carried out notable personnel changes within the highest echelons of government. Vasyl Maliuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), has been dismissed from his post. According to Maliuk, he will stay in the SBU system and focus on asymmetric special operations of global significance.

Yevhen Khmara, head of the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center, has been appointed acting head of the SBU.

Zelensky held meetings with key candidates for the SBU leadership position, including Oleksandr Poklad, Brigadier General Denys Kylymnyk, and Vasyl Kozak, the latter being awarded the title Hero of Ukraine.

Other significant government rotations include Kyrylo Budanov being appointed head of the Presidential Office and Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Information, set to head the Ministry of Defense soon.

Experts view these developments as a reshuffling within the power structure, reflecting the president's efforts to renew his team amid current political challenges.
