Ukrainian Officer Responds to Hungary Entry Ban and Calls for European Cooperation

A Ukrainian Armed Forces officer comments on Hungary's entry ban and highlights the importance of sharing Ukraine's war experience with the West.

A Ukrainian Armed Forces officer expressed his gratitude to Hungary for adding him and the commander of the unmanned systems forces to the list of individuals banned from entering the country. He remarked that he did not want to leave his commander alone on this list and sees this move as symbolic recognition of the contribution made by Ukrainian military personnel.

He recalled that during the years of the Russian full-scale invasion, Ukraine managed to dispel myths about the strength of the Russian army and the Soviet Union, destroy thousands of pieces of Russian military equipment, and provide the West with unprecedented experience in modern warfare free of charge.

According to the officer, Hungary's decision to cut off the exchange of experience is a loss for the Hungarian military, as joint preparation for future threats is vital. He expressed surprise that Hungary prioritizes relations with Russia, emphasizing the risks of working with authoritarian regimes, as evidenced by events in other European countries.

The officer also thanked Hungarians serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and called on all who care about freedom to join the defense of Ukraine and Europe, as he believes the continent's future and security are being determined now for all civilized nations.

He drew historical parallels to the 1956 Hungarian uprising against Soviet occupation, stressing the ongoing struggle against totalitarianism and the dangers of compromise with modern dictatorships.
