Ukrainian drones strike strategic targets in Russia: details of recent attacks

Ukrainian drones attacked a series of strategic sites in Russia, including ports and factories, causing significant economic and military losses.

Recently, Ukrainian drones have been conducting daily attacks on strategically important sites in Russia. Notably, the Smolensk Aviation Plant, which manufactures parts for Kh-59, Kh-69, and Kh-101 missiles, was hit.

Ukrainian UAVs also struck key ports such as Ust-Luga and Primorsk in the Leningrad region, leading to numerous flight delays and temporary airport closures. While Russian media previously ignored these strikes, they are now alleging that Baltic states are involved in the attacks.

One target was the "Apatit" chemical plant in Cherepovets, Europe's largest producer of phosphate fertilizers and acids, which also produces raw materials for Russia's military industry. Damaging such sites has both economic and military consequences for Russia.

The Ukrainian side emphasizes it only targets military infrastructure, as opposed to Russian strikes on civilian areas. In response, Russia has restricted mobile internet in affected regions, but these measures have not fully prevented drone attacks.

Russian leadership has avoided commenting on these attacks, while propagandists spread misinformation about possible involvement of Baltic countries and attempt to justify themselves to the Russian public.

Experts believe Ukrainian drone strikes significantly impact Russia's military and economic capacity. Ukraine's defense forces continue to receive drone support for operations against military targets inside Russia.

Despite external factors, such as global energy changes and partial lifting of sanctions on Russian oil, Russia is facing substantial losses due to export restrictions and ongoing Ukrainian attacks.
